Wallpaper Ink customises with Soyang Europe
UK wallcoverings producer Wallpaper Ink has paid tribute to Soyang Europe after using various media from the company to support and expand its creative service offering.
Based in South Wales, Wallpaper Ink not only has a wide-ranging customer base, but also a very open and bespoke offering that requires the company to be very creative in order to respond to the demands of clients.
The firm uses substrates from Soyang Europe to produce some of this work, and founder Scott Evans has said that both the quality and range of solutions on offer has helped his company to take on all types of work.
“We offer customers a choice of three different substrates upon which to have their image printed,” Evans said. “Depending on their installation requirements and skills, they can select from a traditional, pasteable paper, a self-adhesive product or our top-of-the-range spray-activated material.”
Soyang’s SoMagic pasteable product is one of the solutions utilised by Wallpaper Ink, printing images on the media using its bank of Roland eco-solvent printers. The firm also uses the ST035 self-adhesive, paste-free product for certain jobs, while Evans speaks highly of the SoMagic Water Glue solution.
“The adhesive is activated by spraying the wall with water, which makes the paper easy to handle and put in place,” he sad. “It makes it very simple to line up images or patterns drop-to-drop and really helps people get over any perceived barriers to taking a DIY approach to hanging wallpaper.”
Evans added: “Soyang Europe’s substantial stockholding and next day delivery really help us cope with demand,” Evans states. “We know we can call off stock and receive it the following working day, so our inventory is kept low – but we can still work with the confidence to respond promptly to even the largest orders.”
Expanding on the company’s recent success, Evans reveals details of a business plan that includes an exclusive deal with Adobe. The link-up allows customers to choose from more than 40 million images on the Wallpaper Ink website, as well as the option to use their own images.
Evans went on to say that such has been the success of this model that the firm is now looking to expand into other types of work, citing trade print as one of the company’s potential expansion sectors.
“We’re being approached for trade print more and more thanks to the reputation we’re forging for expertise in the wallcoverings sector,” Evans said. “Wallpaper Ink is very much open for business from print companies looking to receive a high-quality specialist print for their customers.”
