Imaginators goes wider with new Durst

Essex-based Imaginators have further invested in new technology to include the addition of the latest 5m wide Durst Rho 512R.
The new printer, which joins existing Durst kit at the large-format PSP, enhances the company’s 5m-wide printer with a new Fine Art printing mode at 1,200dpi.
Additionally, in Production mode the machine can now reach speeds of up to 400sqm/hr, up from the 360sqm/hr top speed that could be achieved on the original Rho 512R.
The company is predicting at least a 20% hike in turnover within a year following the installation of the machine, and it expects it to open opportunities with new clients.
“We can now produce stage sets - a recent one was 90m wide and joined seamlessly - within a week, thanks to the speed of the Durst," Imaginators founder and director Matt Tydeman commented.
"In the past this would have taken at least two weeks due to the complexity of printing and finishing especially for multiple content. Installation of the new Durst 512R press is already opening up further opportunities for high-resolution printing within our established business areas including event, retail and exhibition work, as well as for sports brands and their stadiums."
"Business is good and we’re confident of at least a 20% turnover increase in our first year, plus a return on investment certainly within two years,” Tydeman concluded.
