Avery Dennison launches PVC-free film for textured surfaces

Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions North America has introduced MPI 1405, an ultra-conformable film with a long-term removable (LTR) adhesive.
Its reliable and superior print quality and instant adaptability make it suitable for a broad range of applications, from car wraps and outdoor graphic needs, to textured surfaces like brick walls or cinderblock.
“MPI 1405 maintains color saturation and graphic integrity, even with a greater degree of film stretch, which is especially important for textured surfaces,” says Avery Dennison marketing director Jeff Losch. “The film can be reliably printed across all leading printing platforms: latex, UV, EcoSol and solvent. With MPI 1405, we are answering our customers’ need for a PVC-free digital film that can be used on an array of surfaces.”
The new film is warranted for cement, brick and concrete surfaces, making it ideal for indoor and outdoor architectural applications. It also requires less heat during installation, due to its high conformability. Fleet and vehicle wraps, which require an eco-friendly solution, can also benefit from MPI 1405, which is pending Greenguard Certification.
MPI 1405 is available with Easy Apply RS technology to provide quick and easy application and long-term removability. Easy Apply air egress technology helps eliminate wrinkles and bubbles while Easy Apply RS provides repositionability and slideability, allowing the film to be moved easily before pressure is applied.
Key features of Avery Dennison MPI 1405 include:
- Reliable print performance across all digital platforms – latex, solvent, eco-solvent and UV
- Quick and easy installation over complex curves and deep recesses with Easy Apply RS technology
- Long-term removable adhesive for easy removal at end of life
“I’ve recommended MPI 1405 to Fastsigns franchisees looking for a durable film that can handle heavy textures and rough surfaces,” says Fastsigns training manager Ross Cartwright. “If the product is installed and post heated properly, it will maintain that painted on look that customers are looking for.”
MPI 1405 joins the “Next Generation Collection” of digital films from Avery Dennison that includes MPI 2105 and MPI 1105.
MPI 2105 is a newly updated calendered film that offers significantly better dimensional stability and exceptional value for applications requiring premium calendered film durability. MPI 1105 is an ultra-conformable supercast film that merges premium PVC facestock with a long term removable (LTR) adhesive, ideal for vehicle and outdoor graphics needs.
