Avery Dennison completes major wrap project for DPD
Avery Dennison has completed a large-scale wrap project for DPD, which saw the Materials supplier rebrand the parcel delivery company’s entre European fleet of vehicles.
The scheme, which formed part of the wider ‘DPDgroup Rebranding 2015-2017’ initiative, included wrapping almost 30,000 vehicles and 4,500 trailers over a period of three years.
Working in partnership with regional DPD Avery Dennison DPD Business Units, Avery Dennison provided a selection of materials for the project. These included Printed Durable Screen 6903 with overlaminate in certain regions, MPI Digital Cast with overlaminate in other regions, and Avery Dennison 700 PF series, with each having a five-year ICS Platinum Warranty.
In addition, Avery Dennison was able to offer further support such as advice on the most suitable conversion techniques, as well as recommendations from the Avery Dennison Colour Match programme to help ensure accurate reproduction of DPD’s new brand and logo.
Shaun Hobson, business director, Graphics Solutions Europe for Avery Dennison, said: “This was a huge project by any standards, and our sales and technical specialists worked hard to give DPD the best advice and the right solution.
“We also committed to organising converters and applicators across Europe to ensure that deadlines and quality requirements were met – and we produced a manual to show applicators all of the key production steps required for a successful outcome.”
Jean-Claude Sonet, customer experience communications director at DPD, added: “Avery Dennison clearly understood the challenges of a decentralised project; we operate across the continent, and we needed a partner who could understand working cultures in many different regions.
“Avery Dennison had both the ability and commitment needed to execute a program on this scale, and we have been very pleased with the way they have worked in partnership with our regional business units. This has been a very successful project for us.”
Completion of this major wrapping project comes as the industry prepares for the climax of this year’s FESPA World Wrap Masters Series. While many of the finalists have already been decided, there are still a handful of qualification events left for those hoping to take part in the World Wrap Masters Finals at FESPA 2017 in Hamburg, Germany, in May.
Brasil Wrap Masters will take place on March 15 at FESPA Brasil, while the European Wrap Masters, the final qualifying event, is scheduled for May 8 at FESPA 2017, just days ahead of the final on May 11.
