Roland DG toasts to FESPA success

The Roland DG team celebrate the manufacturer’s success on its stand at the 2018 FESPA Global Print Expo last month

Roland DG has spoken out over its appearance at the 2018 FESPA Global Print Expo, hailing the event as a “great success” for the company.

The manufacturer showcased its widest ever portfolio of print, cut, UV-LED and personalisation solutions at the event in Germany, with the aim of demonstrating to visitors how it can provide kit for various sectors across the industry.

Roland DG also placed a great emphasis on inspiring visitors to expand into new markets, with a focus on how its technology can help them access new, profitable work. In addition, the firm was promoting its new Roland Hero Awards initiative, which highlights the good work done by Roland DG users around the world.

Gillian Montanaro, head of marketing at Roland DG EMEA, told FESPA.com: “‘What matters to you, inspires what we do' was our theme for FESPA 2018, and Roland users literally took centre-stage on the booth as we celebrated our new Roland Hero Awards campaign.

“The Awards, launched this spring, recognise the incredibly innovative, entrepreneurial and inspirational Roland users who span the EMEA region, and who are achieving amazing things with Roland equipment.

“By sharing their stories, Roland users – our Heroes – are in with a chance of winning a holiday of a lifetime and the overall title of Roland Hero 2018.”

Montanaro also explained that Roland DG was keen to establish its stand as a key meeting place for visitors. With this in mind, the company installed an on-booth café as an additional incentive for attendees. Over the course of the event, Roland DG served 1,500 beers to visitors.

“From a purely commercial perspective the show was a great success, but more than that, we wanted the booth to be a welcoming place where people could meet and get inspired,” Montanaro said.

Other highlights on the Roland DG stand included the VersaUV S-Series, which made its FESPA debut in Berlin, as well as the new DGSHAPE by Roland LD-80 laser foil decorator—billed as the “next generation in on-demand product personalisation”.

Montanaro added: “FESPA is always a wonderful opportunity to meet with our existing customers, partners, industry experts and press, and to forge new relationships.

“In the coming months we're excited to build on the great connections we made at the show, and take our 'What matters to you, inspires what we do' theme forward with the Roland Hero Awards.

“We’ll be gaining feedback on our end-to-end solutions and developing new technology in response to our users' needs. And we're very much looking forward to next year in Munich.”
