From the unexpected surprises to the main trends driving development in the sector, Rob Fletcher identifies how exhibitors are postitioning themselves to meet evolving customer demands.

While some companies remain loyal to litho, the ongoing digital print revolution is hard to ignore. Digital print has had such a positive impact on the global industry.

This form of technology has completely transformed the way many think about production, while at the same time opening up a realm of new opportunities for customers. And the best thing about digital print development is that it shows no signs of slowing down.

FESPA 2017 will welcome the leading players in the digital print market, each of which will be keen to generate interest in their latest products and solutions for this buoyant area of the industry. Taking place from May 8-12 in the German city of Hamburg, the exhibition will serve as an exciting hub of activity for the global print market.

One of the many digital print giants in attendance at FESPA 2017 will be Epson, which plans to show off a whole host of machines to visitors, including no less than six devices from its popular SureColor range.

Due to be featured on Stand D45 in Hall A1 are the SC-S80600 10-colour 64-inch model with an UltraChrome GS3 inkset, as well as the SC-F9200 dye sublimation printer for soft signage and fabric work.

Also exhibiting at FESPA 2017 in May is HP, which is known across the industry, as well as in other markets, for its leading digital print technology. Visitors to Stand D15 in Hall A1 will be able to view products such as the HP PageWide XL 8000, which has the ability to operate at speeds of up to 30 A1 prints per minute and handle media to 40 inches in width.

Elsewhere, Inca Digital will be showcasing the power of its SpyderX, mid-range printer, which can handle media up to 3.2m x 2m wide, on Stand D51 in Hall A1. John Mills, chief executive of the manufacturer, said that the company is excited ahead of what will be its first appearance at FESPA.

“Visitors will be able to discuss in-depth technical and applications related matters with our specialists, gaining an exclusive insight into Inca’s products and how they could forever change the way they work,” Mills said.

Meanwhile, visitors will also be able to drop in on the likes of Canon on Stand B55 in Hall A1; Agfa Graphics over in Hall B5 on Stand E20 and EFI and Roland DG next door in Hall B7 on Stand E30 and E20, respectively.

A host of other key manufacturers from the digital print sector are scheduled to attend and visitors are advised to study the floorplan and exhibitor list to plan their time at the show.

With this in mind, FESPA 2017 will be running a programme of seminar events throughout the exhibition, and many of these will be relevant to those within the digital print sector of the market. To find about more about these sessions, check back soon for part two of those special series.
