Exploring the great outdoors at FESPA 2017

FESPA 2017 is set to be a must-attend event for members of the outdoor print industry after the organisation announced the addition of new exhibitors to the floorplan.

It is hard to leave your house or place of work without seeing some sort of print while on your travels.

Be it a poster advertising the latest blockbuster film, a billboard advertising the latest offers from a broadband provider, or even a huge wrap covering a building that is undergoing constriction work, outdoor print comes in many shapes and sizes.

Outdoor print is also one of the most profitable areas of the wider market, with companies in this area reporting a plentiful supply of work from a wide range of customers.

This is one of many key trends that will be reflected at FESPA 2017, which takes place in Hamburg, Germany, from May 8-12 this year. Companies from across the industry will be in attendance to show off their latest printing solutions, but for those interested in the outdoor print sector, certain exhibitors, and sections of the event, may be of particular interest.

One such company is Folex, which operates under the banner ‘The fine art of coating’, plans to showcase products for use in large-format signage work. Simon Warren, vice-president sales and head of marketing, said a number of solutions from the company are suitable for use in outdoor projects.

“Our main focus will be our large-format inkjet media for sign and display applications, such as backlit, banner, rollup/popup and adhesives,” Warren said. “Obviously our banner, backlit, adhesives for latex and solvent can be used for outdoor applications.” Folex will be based on Stand E1 in Hall A1 at FESPA 2017, where visitors can learn more about how solutions from the firm can be used to support outdoor work.

Meanwhile, Contra Vision, a company that focuses on transforming clear glass into advertising, branding and decorative displays. Based on Stand C70 in Hall B7, the firm’s solutions cover profitable areas such as retail window advertising, vehicle and building wraps, as well as glass signage and wayfinding.

For example, Contra Vision is a brand of perforated window film that the firm said is manufactured to provide “high quality printing, minimal shrinkage and problem-free installation and removal”.

Elsewhere, Solvetex will feature on Stand D7 in Hall B6 at FESPA 2017, and visitor will have the opportunity to learn more about the company’s digital printing textile solutions. And for those involved in printing products such as banners and flags for outdoor use, this booth will certainly be of interest.

Amongst the Solvetex portfolio of products are sublimation printing textiles, dye and pigment printing textiles, solvent eco printing textiles, UV printing textiles and latex printing textiles.

And while exhibitors will have plenty to show off, visitors can also find out much more about this sector at the many in-show features at the show.
