Engrave your name in history at FESPA 2017

Engraving remains an important part of production for many companies, despite being one of the oldest techniques in the industry.

While many sign-makers in the current market are keen to learn more about the latest machinery they can use to produce work, engraving is a tried and tested technique that just keeps on giving.

And with many manufacturers committed to developing new solutions in this area, this traditional-style technique looks set to be around for many years to come.

FESPA recognises the important of engraving in the modern market and, as such, will feature a number of companies related to this area of production at FESPA 2017 this year.

Taking place from May 8-12 in Hamburg, Germany, the event will welcome hundreds of exhibitors from across the market, each keen to showcase their latest innovations.

One of the companies set to exhibit at FESPA 2017 this May is Trotec Laser, which specialises in laser engraving systems. The firm’s Speedy range features four specifications of machines; the Speedy 100, Speedy 300, Speedy 360 and Speedy 400, which are able to handle different sizes of work.

All machines in the Speedy series are supplied with the JobControl laser engraver software, while each machine is able to engrave onto a wide range of surfaces, such as acrylic, glass, metal, plastic, textiles and wood. To find out more about the Speedy range and Trotec, visit the company on Stand C65 in Hall A1.

Also attending FESPA 2017 this year is AXYZ International, which offers a wide range of CNC router and CNC knife solutions, which can be of use for those on the lookout for new engraving solutions.

Products in the AXYZ portfolio include the Pacer heavy-duty CNC router, which can handle material as wide as 2,159mm, and in lengths of up to 6m. AXYZ said that the machine is well suited to high-productivity routing and engraving in all materials. To find out more, visit the company on Stand C51 in Hall B5 at the exhibition.

Elsewhere in Hall B5, Epilog Laser will be on Stand C45 to educate visitors about it range of engraving cutting and marking systems.

Focusing on engraving, Epilog Laser offers solutions featuring carbon dioxide lasers, including the Epilog Zing Series entry-level machines and the Epilog Legend Series. In addition, the firm has the Epilog Fober Laser Series for metal engraving and plastic marking.

Aside from activity on the show floor, an in-depth seminar series will also take place at FESPA 2017. One session that may be of interest to those keen to learn more about engraving is the ‘European Sign Code of Practice’, which will begin at 11am on May 10.

Customers are challenging sign-makers to utilise the tried and tested technology to produce weird and wonderful applications suited for use in the modern world.

While signmakers are responding to demand in a strong fashion, manufacturers of engraving technology are also helping the production method retain its place at the top of the industry with the development and supply of new machinery.

This ongoing development will be showcased at FESPA 2017, where companies from across the engraving sector will be invited to showcase their technology and demonstrate to visitors how it can help improve their output.
