swissQprint and Spandex UK to part

Spandex UK and swissQprint are parting by mutual agreement. swissQprint is investing in a new subsidiary to become the sole provider of sales, servicing and application support in the UK.
In 2011, Spandex UK entered into an exclusive agreement with swissQprint to distribute and support their unique range of UV flatbed systems. Over time, whilst Spandex are recognised as the No.1 supplier to the sign & graphics market, the ongoing development of swissQprint and their product portfolio meant that more expertise was required to take swissQprint into adjacent markets such as packaging, as well as specialist print and industrial applications.
On this basis, Spandex UK and swissQprint have decided by mutual agreement to discontinue their partnership. This was not an easy decision to make but both companies have decided that it is best for swissQprint to service the UK market directly through a new subsidiary. There will be a transition period starting in October 2019 to ensure continued support and service to customers in the UK.
“Being the exclusive distributor of such an innovative product range has really helped Spandex expand into new markets but all good things must come to an end and we wish swissQprint continued success in the UK”, Leon Watson, General Manager of Spandex UK summed up. Maurus Zeller, Product Manager at swissQprint, expressed his appreciation for the long-standing cooperation with Spandex and announced: “We intend to focus activities in the UK and to further expand our services.”
Erskine Stewart will be Managing Director of swissQprint UK Limited. He has been involved in the wide-format signage and packaging market in the UK for over 15 years. Erskine will be establishing the new subsidiary in Bracknell, Berkshire. This will be the base for the swissQprint UK team who will provide sales, servicing and application support.
The Bracknell premises will include a brand-new demonstration centre featuring the latest innovations from swissQprint, including the new Karibu roll to roll printer and Nyala 3 flatbed printer. A full range of consumables, spare parts and ink will also be distributed from the new UK subsidiary.
