Roland DG launches machine rental programme in UK

The new UK programme has been designed to enable SMEs, start-ups and businesses to develop or move into wide format technology by renting a Roland printer or printer/cutter for 1-3 years, without the need for up-front investment or financing.

Available to rent are some of Roland’s most popular machines, including the market-leading VersaCAMM SP-i and new VS-i series of printer/cutters (the best selling printer cutter in the world) and the VersaART RE-640 printer.

The VS-i series is suitable for a wide variety of indoor and outdoor applications, as well as PoS, heat transfers and packaging and has a variety of ink options, including combinations of light black, white and metallic.

The move recognises success of a programme which was initiated by Roland DG's American division in March 2012, itself an industry first.

The new UK programme is designed to further support growth for the Japanese manufacturer in the UK market, helping small to medium sized businesses to reduce the risk to printers who might not be able to get finance from other sources.

The rental terms also recognise the speed of development in the digital market, where machine technology is developing rapidly and print service providors risk their technology being overtaken by competitors.

A typical rental package includes the accessories and consumables used across the duration of the rental agreement, one example being a full wide-format printer along with a full set of inks to get you started, delivery and installation costs, telephone and on-site engineer support through the RolandCare Silver warranty, VersaWorks RIP software with on-going software updates and a place on the Roland DG Academy's Digital Print Course.
