Ricoh pledges value performance with Pro C9200

Rob Fletchers talks to Ricoh about the Ricoh Pro C9200 Series

Ricoh has rolled out its new Pro C9200 Series of digital sheet fed colour presses in order to help print service providers (PSPs) maximise production uptime and expand capabilities to more efficiently meet customer demand.

The latest series features a long sheet capability of up to 1,030mm auto duplex 1,260mm simplex and increased media support up to 450gsm, with users able to print as fast as 115ppm 135ppm in A4 mode, depending on the model.

Other key features on the Pro C9200 include improved purge control, as well as a new 17-inch operator panel designed to enhance usability.

In addition, PSPs that invest in the Pro C9200 have the option to use a number of digital front ends, such as Fiery E-45 and E-85 from Ricoh and EFI’s performance DFE TotalFlow Print Server R-62. This also offers integration various pre-press workflow solutions from Kodak and Apogee from Agfa.

Tim Carter, director, commercial printer at Ricoh UK and Ireland, opened up to FESPA.com about the new technology, saying that it will be of interest to both commercial and digital production printing businesses.

“We are confident that commercial and digital production printing businesses, plus direct mailers with A4 colour volumes of in excess of 100,000, will embrace the performance and value represented by the Ricoh Pro C9200,” Carter said.

“Similarly, we expect to find inplants in larger enterprises with similar annual A4 colour volumes keen to invest in this technology. As a result, we are confident that the Pro C9200 series will prove to be similarly popular among a diverse range of production printing businesses.”

Carter also spoke about why PSPs should invest in the kit over similar products on the market: “There is no other digital colour sheetfed press that matches the value performance package delivered by the Ricoh Pro C9200.

“All these advances have been developed to flexibly support higher quality, on demand production of a wider range of services and substrates including synthetics, carbonless paper, coated and uncoated stock and envelopes.

“They help PSPs maximise production uptime and expand capabilities to more efficiently, cost effectively and profitably answer broadening market demands.”

Although Ricoh will not be showing the Pro C9200 at FESPA 2018, visitors to the company’s stand will have the opportunity to see the new Pro C7200X digital cut sheet printer at the event.

Ricoh also plans to demonstrate its latest developments in flatbed, large-format, direct-to-garment, sheetfed and inkjet print-head technologies at the exhibition, which runs from May 15-18 in Berlin, Germany.
