Speed Wrap 2019 winner crowned
Joey-Lee Erasmus was declared the ultimate winner of the Roland Speed Wrap Challenge 2019 FESPA Africa 2019 and Sign Africa.
As part of his win Erasmus has won a trip to compete at the World Wrap Masters Final 2020 at the Global Print Expo 2020 in Madrid in March. Following close behind in second place was Gareth James from Wrap Formula and in third place Vaughn Repsold from Lidicious Helmet Wraps.
The competition was sponsored by platinum sponsor Roland, vinyl sponsors Grafiwrap (distributed by Maizey Plastics) and show sponsors Sign Africa and FESPA Africa.
The daily challenges took place from 11th -13th September at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg. The challenges involved participants racing against the clock to wrap a vehicle door to the best standards. The last challenge saw the top three competitors wrap a vehicle door with a special triple layer vinyl.
‘I am overwhelmed,’ said Erasmus, ‘I have been trying to win for the last four years.’
The day one and day two results were as follows:
Day 1 – 11th September 2019
1. Joey-Lee Erasmus, Wrap My Ride (double prize money for exceeding 45 points).
2. Vaughn Repsold, Lidicious Helmet Wraps.
3. Gareth James, Wrap Formula.
Day 2 – 12th September 2019
1. Vaughn Repsold – Lidicious Helmet Wraps.
2. Joey-Lee Erasmus, Wrap My Ride.
3. Gareth James, Wrap Formula.
