Esko launches expanded software platform release 18.0.1

Esko has launched the latest update to the ESKO software platform that features ArtPro 64-bit and full plug-in compatibility with Adobe Creative Cloud 2019.

This latest release provides several platform-wide updates. Geert De Proost, Director of Solutions Marketing at Esko says: “In a continuously changing market, we need to guarantee that our solutions are ahead of the game. We are always looking for ways to improve all aspects of our software solutions. The improvements may be large or small, however the aim stays the same. We want to ensure that our customers receive the best value for their investment in the Esko software platform and software maintenance. We carefully consider market trends and customer feedback, these affect many of our improvements. This release is no different. Our aim is to make sure that our customers have the right tools and capabilities to strengthen their efficiency and profitability.”

ArtPro 64-bit includes hyper-modern packaging editor

One of the key highlights is the availability of a macOS-supported 64-bit version of ArtPro. Furthermore, customers that have a maintenance contract receive a complimentary copy of ArtPro+, the ultimate modern packaging editor. ArtPro+ includes a unique and clean task-driven user interface, enhanced performance and support of ArtPro+ files.

ArtPro+ action lists in Automation Engine for increased prepress efficiency

In addition, the new release features ArtPro+ action lists in Automation Engine. Time consuming prepress tasks become automated and operators can concentrate on value-added processes. This ensures that the overall prepress operation is more effective.

Full compatibility with Creative Cloud 2019

The release guarantees full compatibility of all plug-ins with Adobe Creative Cloud 2019, including Studio, DeskPack, and Dynamic Content.

Viewing on the fly

Another feature of the new release, Imaging Engine now includes In-RIP Prepare for viewing. This enables users to control the quality of ripped files on the fly, throughout the ripping process. This gets rid of waiting times and frees up capacity. De Proost says: “This is principally important in high-volume converter and pre-media operations that requires the ability to manage a higher volume of label and flexo short-run, fast-turn around jobs. It removes the need for the process to be completed as a separate task in Automation Engine and assists pre-media operations handle increased throughput.”

 Create display variants in seconds

ArtiosCAD users can now create new variants of displays or other multi-part designs within seconds. Users can start from a single resizable canvas design template. This is ideal for sign and display customers and corrugated operations that are confronted with many design requests and need to provide faster times to market.
De Proost concludes: “These new improvements are only the tip of the iceberg. We have several more in this release. Furthermore, we are developing numerous significant additional improvements we can’t wait to bring to market to help our customers with their efficiency and cost effectiveness.”
