EFI sets textile focus for FESPA Asia

The FLEXY incorporates the latest digital technologies for best-in-class performance, is easy to operate and has a low maintenance cost
EFI has revealed that it will use its presence at FESPA Asia this year to show off its textile print solutions and speak with visitors about how they can expand into this market.
Taking place from February 22-24 at the BITEC Exhibition Centre in Bangkok, Thailand, FESPA Asia will feature a host of leading names from the print sector. With thousands of visitors expected to attend, EFI is aiming to capitalise on this interest by using the event as a platform showcase new kit.
EFI Reggiani, the textile print division of EFI, will present FLEXY, a 1.8m printer that can operate a speeds of up to 400sq m/hr and produce work at a maximum resolution of 2,400dpi. Featuring eight printheads, FLEXY can handle a wide selection of materials, ranging from knitted and woven textiles, through to high-stretchable and stretchable materials.
In a statement released ahead of the event, EFI said: “The printer is the first EFI industrial textile printer to have a new green housing reflecting Reggiani’s brand heritage as well as the product line’s environmentally friendly production advantages, such an ink recovery feature that dramatically reduces ink consumption.
“The FLEXY incorporates the latest digital technologies for best-in-class performance, is easy to operate and has a low maintenance cost, making it an ideal solution for production and sampling alike.”
The new FLEXY is compatible with the new Fiery Textile Bundle, complete with dedicated textile functionality. The EFI Fiery proServer DFE can be used with all printers in the EFI Reggiani range, offering advanced colour management and screening technology.
Expanding on this, EFI said: “The result for users is high-quality prints with saturated blacks, vivid colours, clean pastels and smooth gradients, without compromising fine detail designs.
“The DFE also provides important production tools including shrinkage correction and step-and-repeat management, plus a set of design tools to create repeats, colourways, manage seasonal pallets and create colour ranges.”
EFI and EFI Reggiani will be among a plethora of leading names from the print market that will be in attendance at FESPA Asia this year. The likes of Fujifilm, Epson, M&R, Kornit, Inktec, Galaxy and Dgen are also set to feature at the event this month.
In addition to a strong exhibitor list, visitors will have access to various special in-event features, including the much-anticipated Asia round of the FESPA Wrap Masters. Sponsored by Hexis, this worldwide competition highlights the best in wrapping talent, with the winners from regional rounds progressing to the grand final at FESPA 2018.
