Caldera GrandRip+ to be bundled with new Impres machine

MS Printing Solution’s new Impres soft signage printer will come bundled with Caldera’s GrandRip+.

Software developer Caldera has confirmed support of the new MS Printing Solution’s Impres soft signage printer, which will be making its first appearance in the Latin American market at FESPA Mexico 2017. It will be located on MS's booth, C10, during the show at the Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City, from 16-18 November.

Caldera’s established GrandRIP+ software, which uses the latest version of the Adobe PDF Engine to guarantee fast file processing and excellent color handling, will be the select RIP solution bundled with the Impres Soft Signage System.

Designed as an all-in-one engine for the production of increasingly textile display applications, believes the new system will address the market for lightweight, recyclable POP advertising, backlits, flags, banners, and exhibition and stadium graphics.

It is an integrated digital printing system that combines MS Printing Solutions’ digital printer technology with Caldera software and specially formulated inks from JK Group.

The software - which uses the latest version of the Adobe PDF Engine - has features designed to make printing simpler in textile workflows. Built-in colour libraries, variable data printing, advanced cropping, tiling and nesting options and embedded ICC ink-level adjustment support tools are all part of the Impres Soft Signage System.

Its user-friendly interface also supports multiple devices, including cutting and finishing devices, giving owners confidence that they can expand their production machinery without compromising quality or turnaround.

The Impres soft signage printers are available in widths of 1.8m and 3.2m, and feature dual-channel, 2656-nozzle Kyocera printheads for precision printing even at high speeds, and a Qwizard Digital Front End that allow the management of the job queue to be embedded in the printer, so reducing printer idle time.

The machines’ dye-sublimation JK Group inks are uniquely formulated for their Kyocera printheads, with the 4180 and 4320 running either four or eight channels, and the 3180 running four.

The machines are suitable for a number of products, including flags, banners, wraps, POS displays and backlit signage. Printing can be carried out direct-to-fabric or onto paper transfer.

“Caldera has believed in the power of soft signage since the market emerged because of its sustainability and operational benefits,” explains Caldera vice president marketing and communications Sebastien Hanssens.

“Retailers and brand owners in particular are embracing textile displays as an alternative to PVC and banner. Our objective is to deliver the best-in-class software needed to make sure signs and displays are produced with stunning colors and vibrancy. We’re delighted to support MS Printing Solutions with its impressive new technology.”
