People and Technology Brings Digital Printing Innovation to FESPA Global Print Expo 2025

With more than 550 exhibitors from 36 countries, FESPA promises to surpass the previous edition in terms of innovation and key trends, including sustainability, on-demand printing, and smart automation.

From May 6 to 9, 2025, Messe Berlin will be the epicenter of the specialty printing industry as it hosts FESPA Global Print Expo, European Sign Expo, and Personalization Experience. Among the featured exhibitors at this year’s event is Personas y Tecnología, a Spanish company recognized for its focus on technological solutions for digital printing and personalization.

At FESPA.com, we spoke with Roberto Campos, Project Manager at Personas y Tecnología, to learn more about his participation and expectations for FESPA Global Print Expo 2025.

SmartCleanjector: Innovation in Printhead Cleaning

At FESPA Global Print Expo 2025, Personas y Tecnología will unveil SmartCleanjector, a revolutionary machine that not only cleans printheads but also performs a detailed electronic analysis of each electrode.

“With this equipment, users get an accurate assessment of the condition of the injectors, immediately identifying whether they are functioning properly, clogged, or irreparably damaged,” explains Roberto Campos, the company’s project manager.

This advancement eliminates uncertainty in printhead recovery and reduces machine downtime. “Before, the process could take days. With SmartCleanjector, a diagnosis is obtained in minutes and cleaning is automated, optimizing performance and efficiency,” adds Campos. A key solution for improving productivity and quality in digital printing.

One of the biggest challenges in printhead recovery has been the time it takes to determine whether a printhead is recoverable. Until now, the process could take several days, with tests and trials that often proved unsuccessful. “Performing a 24-hour cleaning process and then running a print test to see if the printhead was 100% recovered or not could take us up to 4 or 5 days,” explains Campos.

With the SmartCleanjector, this problem is solved. “Now, the initial analysis tells us whether the electrodes are broken. If they are, the print head is obviously beyond repair, and we don’t waste another second cleaning it,” explains Campos. In addition, the automated system allows for scheduling periodic analyses to monitor the recovery process, saving time and improving efficiency. “As soon as the cleaning process is complete, the machine alerts the user to remove the print head and install a new one. This reduces downtime and makes the process much more streamlined.”

Expectations for FESPA Global Print Expo 2025

People and Technology is returning to FESPA with high expectations. “What motivated us to attend is that we’ve seen growth in the number of exhibitors and an increase in the size of the booths, especially among the major companies. This is positive because they’re the ones who attract the public,” says Campos. For the company, the trade show represents a unique opportunity to connect with its target market.

However, Campos acknowledges that the global context presents uncertainties: “The geopolitical situation is very complex. With the war in Eastern Europe, instability in the United States, and competition in Asia, many companies are holding off on making decisions. Some projects are on hold because our clients don’t know which direction to take.”

Despite this outlook, the company is confident that FESPA Global Print Expo 2025 will be a key platform for generating leads and strengthening its position in the industry. “Our expectations now, as always, are to make good connections. We’re not looking for a large number of leads, but rather strategic relationships with key manufacturers,” concludes Campos.
