Feenix Sign & Graphics boosts in-house capabilities with Roland buy

Signage specialist Feenix Sign & Graphics has installed a Roland TrueVis VG-640, which its managing director said has led to a huge improvement in turnaround times and quality output.

Having accumulated nearly two decades of graphic design and sign industry experience, Adam Cox launched Feenix Signs & Graphics in April 2017, since when the company has been supplying and installing internal and external signage, vehicle livery and fleet graphics to both trade and private customers in and around the thriving industrial area of Wisbech.

When it came to choosing a printer for his new start-up business, Adam Cox had only one manufacturer in mind. He explained: “Setting up my own business was a daunting prospect, but based on decades of experience with Roland DG technology, I knew a Roland printer was the right choice."

Adam selected a TrueVIS VG-640 eco-solvent wide-format printer/cutter and reports that the printer’s hardware and software are very intuitive, thus enabling new staff members to become proficient and productive very quickly.

He continued: “Roland DG machines are totally user-friendly, both in terms of operation and maintenance and produce impressive results every time. The TrueVIS VG-640 is the cornerstone of my business; Feenix is centred around and totally dependent upon the reliable, high-quality output the printer/cutter delivers."

For further inspiration, Adam recently visited Roland DG UK’s Creative Centre in Clevedon, something which he claims has always been on his personal bucket list. He explaied: "From the moment I walked in, I felt like Charlie Bucket walking into Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!"

“Being greeted by the infinite colours, media, materials, products and technology, helpful people, together with the physical samples on display and the odd coffee or two, fully justified the nine-hour round-trip. The displays opened my eyes with regard to future output avenues and the hardware on display provided food for thought in terms of my own future business development."

Feenix Signs & Graphics has tripled its workforce within eight months of its conception, and Adam is already looking to expand the premises to enable him to increase his offering further.

He concluded: “The Roland TrueVIS VG-640 printer/cutter has enabled me to deliver consistent, quality output to my customers at a competitive price. After just eight months of trading, we have surpassed our first-year profit forecast and the credit is largely due to Roland DG’s products, service and support, as well as plenty of hard work, dedication and late nights!”
