Follmann returns to Global Print Expo 2019

Follman will present its water based ink receiving coatings for digital printing media at the Global Print Expo 2019 in Munich.

After making a successful first appearance at the Global Print Expo 2018 last year, Follmann is exhibiting once again at the Global Print Expo 2019 in Munich.  The family-owned company from Minden will present its water-based ink-receiving coatings for digital printing media, which have successfully complemented the Follmann product portfolio since March 2018. As part of the Minden-based Follmann Chemie Group the company achieved a turnover of 100 million euros in 2018.

Last year, the Global Print Expo 2018, the world’s largest exhibition for the wide-format printing industry proved to be an ideal platform for Follmann to present its expanded product range for digital
printing to a specialist audience. “We are very pleased with our successful entry into the segment last year and the opportunity to showcase our new product range, which has expanded to include some interesting products which we will present at this year’s fair,” said Heiko Kirstein, Head of Sales Functional Coatings at Follmann.

Ready-to-use, water-based coatings for digital printing media

The aqueous, ready-to-use coatings from Follmann enable subsequent digital printing of numerous substrates such as films (PVC, PP, PE, PET), paper, textiles, wallpaper and canvas. They are suitable for various ink systems, including water-based pigment and dye inks, latex inks, solvent inks and UV-curable inks. The functional surface coatings ensure high-quality print designs and guarantee exceptional colour brilliance. Thanks to the impressive drying speeds, the media to be printed, e.g., roll-ups, banner ads, packaging and labels can be quickly processed. If required, the coatings can also be finished to meet more stringent UV stability, scratch resistance
and flame retardancy standards.

New addition: primers for digital printing

In addition to the aqueous coatings for the signage segment, Follmann now also offers product solutions specially developed for the industrial market. These are primers for digital printing processes like HP Indigo and laser printing. “These new products enable us to tap into new applications such as flexible packaging, corrugated board, and decorative films or labels,” said Heiko Kirstein. “We look forward to informing interested trade fair visitors at our stand about our range, our innovations, our customised solutions and our services.”

FESPA Global Print Expo 2019 is Europe’s largest speciality print exhibition for screen and digital wide format print, textile printing and signage solutions.
