Rob IversROB IVERS  - Head Judge

Returning as Head judge after a successful competition at FESPA 2010 in Munich will be Rob Ivers.

Rob Ivers lives in a suburb of Kansas City (Raymore, Mo. USA) where he began his vinyl career in 1978. He's internationally known for his graphic installation and vehicle wrap training. His training has included open houses, clinics and seminars, trade shows, magazines and videos. Rob crafted the PDAA Certification program in 1999 and served as PDAA's Certification Director ever since. He created Pro-Wrap Mags, the first vehicle wrap magnets brought to market.

He tells us his latest project is a book, The Graphic Installer's Handbook, to be released in the first quarter of 2011. The book will be a revised and updated compilation of articles Rob authored for a monthly column, Real World Vinyl, that appeared in Signs of the Times magazine for the last two years.

Rob Ivers" The FESPA Wrap Cup Master Series Americas was an exciting wrap contest to judge. began the competition. All sixteen competitors very good which made them fun to watch, but challenging for myself and the other judge, Michael Meyer, to select the winners of each match. The judging is for quality, not speed: in most rounds the installers were so closely matched, only a few points separated them. The finals were no different, with all four finalists putting on a spectacular show with near perfect quality. All four completed the entire side of a Mustang in just 90 minutes which was quite impressive and unprecedented in contests I've judged.

James Miller, of Miller Decals, Atlanta, GA took first place. James told me he started installing vinyl in 1979, when he was just 15 years old. It certainly showed in his quality and technique. He's one of the finest installers I've ever seen and I look forward to seeing him compete in London at the FESPA Worldwide Wrap Cup Masters Finals."
