Last night (21.3.12) the first episode of the 8th series of The Apprentice aired on BBC one to approximately 7million people in the prime 9pm slot. For those of you who have not seen it before or are unaware of this popular UK show; The Apprentice is a British reality television series in which a group of aspiring young businessmen and women compete for the chance to win a £250,000 investment into a company of their choice as an apprentice/business partner to the British business millionaire magnate Lord Sugar.
It goes by many names: An earn-out. A tuck-in. For the sake of this article, I'll be using the term "earn out agreement," and I'll show you how struggling companies are using it to not only stay afloat in turbulent economic times, but achieve a lucrative future.
It may be one of the coolest printing innovations to hit the industry for decades but few people have mastered the trick of making money out of 3D printing. Until now. It may seem strange, but there was a hamster that managed this for one print company. It was a company pet. But one day it was featured on the company brochure. The hamster started to build its own following. And sales began to rise.
Do you worry at how you are going to make the right profit on the print you sell?
Are your margins under threat?
Do customers see you offering commodity print?
Knowledge is power. It's also the most overlooked aspect of many print owners' business development strategies.
