"HP is the only company with such a comprehensive portfolio of large-format solutions," said Yariv Avisar, vice president and general manager, Large Format Printing Industrial Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. "We work to protect our customer's investments by giving thorough sales advice, offering upgrade paths and providing additional service engineers and readily available parts to increase uptime. In addition, our continuous innovation and consultative customer relationships helps ensure that we offer market-leading products."
This Spring HP celebrated the grand opening of its new 13,000-sq. metre manufacturing site in Caesarea, Israel. The new facility, combined with other production sites around the world reflects the strong end-user demand for signage solutions from HP. In 2007, HP's growth in wide format printing reached 19% while the market grew 14% over 2006.
A small drop with a big impact
Designed with the environment in mind, HP Latex Printing Technologies offer print service providers (PSPs) a compelling alternative to current large-format printing methods.
The new HP Latex Printing Technologies include water-based HP Latex Inks that produce odorless prints and durable output with sharp, vivid image quality. These inks also enable broad application versatility, and working together with HP Wide Scan Printing Technology, provide high-productivity to enable PSPs to increase their print capacity and grow their business while reducing the total impact of printing on the environment.
HP Latex Inks offer durable, high-quality results on a broad range of HP and non-HP media, achieving display permanence up to three years unlaminated on outdoor prints.
HP Wide Scan Printing Technology, based on printheads built with HP Scalable Printing Technology and HP's proprietary Optical Media Advance Sensor, work together with HP Latex Inks, making it possible to develop new printing systems that can achieve breakthrough print speeds.
Powerful combination of UV and solvent offerings
The completed portfolio integration of NUR Macroprinters Ltd and MacDermid ColorSpan strengthens HP's offer to industrial print shops with a wide variety of UV and solvent-based printers.
Large Format Photo and Proofing Paper Portfolio
In March, HP added three new papers (14 new products) to its large format media portfolio that are designed especially for PSPs and creatives.
HP Everyday Pigment Ink Photo Paper (235g/m²)
HP Premium Matte Photo Paper, (210g/m²) HP Premium Semi-gloss Proofing Paper (240g/m²)
HP's large format media portfolio now includes papers for a variety of uses including graphic design, professional photography, digital fine arts, prepress/proofing, and commercial and industrial printing.
Other innovative products on the stand
On its stand at FESPA Digital 2008 in Geneva, HP will also demonstrated the HP Scitex TJ8300 printer which enables users to target a broader set of applications, including indoor and outdoor displays, exhibition booth decorations, banners, and other digital and screen printing applications. Notably, the printer will be on display with the Fotoba cutter, which offers increased productivity and ensures faster job turnarounds.
Fully automated flatbed capability
Also on the stand was the HP Scitex FB6700 flatbed industrial digital inkjet press with GBC inline laminator, further extending the productivity and durability of rigid applications. The press brings the advantages of digital processes to rigid-media printing, making it ideal for the production of POP and POS displays, samples, short-run packages and exhibition stands.
Driving large format creativity
HP is changing the way graphic professionals create large format images. Graphic professionals can now create colour profiles in minutes instead of hours and obtain exact colour matches throughout the printing process.
The HP Designjet Z6100 Printer series with HP Vivera pigment inks delivers vivid, high-impact prints at maximum print speeds - all with HP's remarkable level of intuitive colour management. The series is ideal for indoor and short-term outdoor banners and large format applications such as photos and fine art prints, drawings, maps and renders.
The Designjet Z series also offers break-through colour consistency with an embedded spectrophotometer, utilising Eye-One Color Technology from X-rite, to achieve consistent, accurate colour printer to printer and print to print.
Also on display is the HP Designjet 8000 series, a comprehensive and easy to use solution for traditional sign shops and screen printers looking to grow their businesses by expanding into outdoor signage markets.
FESPA Digital Print Awards
HP has continued its support of FESPA Digital as a corporate sponsor, in addition to its sponsorship of the Digital Print Awards for the second year running. The award winners gallery can be seen opposite the HP stand in the PalExpo for the duration of the show.
"There was a really high level of creative entries this year, and we were pleased to see that several HP customers won awards for their innovative applications. Atelier Spektrum, Monier 2000 and Rako Etiketten all won their categories with exceptional examples of digital printing," said Avisar.
