Hönle presents new UV curing equipment at FESPA Digital 2008, Geneva |

At FESPA Digital 2008, UV specialist Dr. Hönle AG will be presenting high-performance UV systems and their appropriate control units.
Furthermore, Hönle will be showing UV lamps manufactured within the company itself, as well as a UV measuring system specifically geared to the practice.
UVAPRINT 100: This unique UV curing system has been developed on the basis of the approved UVAPRINT range. With a weight of only approx. 3 kg and extremely small dimensions (length x width x height 215x100x190 mm) – including an integrated fan – it is ideally installed in small printing machines. Regardless of its compact size, this system offers reliable and fast curing resulting from its high radiation yield.
pureUV: pureUV is a development based on the patent of the same name. This completely new generation of UV driers can be produced according to customer-specific installation dimensions. When used with Hönle's electronic power supplies, pureUV allows an increase of the UV intensity by up to 50%. pureUV equipment has a considerably lower energy consumption while offering optimum curing quality and high production speeds. Moreover, the special reflector geometry and reflector coating reduce the temperature on the web by at least 50%. A barrier that prevents the direct irradiation of the web also adds to a lower temperature load.
MUC: The newly developed micro controller MUC (= multi useable controller) is a system solution that considerably simplifies the activation of the UV equipment. It can be connected through a RS232 or a RS485 interface with the printer's control, which makes its integration into the printer very easy. Plug&Play guarantees simple operation. MUC can be used universally for up to two lamps that can be activated separately. Different power outputs or lamp dimensions are no problem. UV lamps: The heart of every UV curing system is the lamp. Therefore, Hönle also has its own development and production site for high-performance UV discharge lamps. Above and beyond the popular standard lamps – UV lamps with arc lengths from 50 mm to 3000 mm -, customer and process specific lamps with special lengths and special dotations are able to be produced. The lamps are available for both Hönle products and external product types.
tesa® UV Strip / UV Scan: This UV measuring system – developed in cooperation with the company tesa® - allows reliable and process-related monitoring of the UV dose directly on the object. As opposed to conventional UV measuring systems, it is now possible to carry out measurements under real production conditions in the printing machine. After the extremely simple measurement is taken, the measured dose value is shown almost immediately on the UV Scan reading device. With this measuring system, process reliability can be increased while energy and wastage costs are reduced.
