About ZSO
ZSO is about the collective representation of business interests, providing entrepreneurs in the sector with information and creating a platform for the exchange of knowledge and collaboration. Moreover, ZSO offers some concrete products with which individual companies can earn money: ZSO-members enjoy advantages in terms of insurance, grant applications and the newly developed web portal. We have just over 120 members. These are screen printers, large format printing companies, sign makers and a couple of suppliers.

About the Sector
There has been a shift from Screen to Large Format (digital) Printing. Environmentally friendly ways of printing are becoming more and more important, as are eco-products themselves. This shows that we are meeting the (ever changing) demands of our customers and even anticipating them. The recession seems to have hit not as hard within our sector of the market. Together with two other Associations ZSO has formed a Sign-Platform. This Platform holds an annual meeting (industry conference) about the developments in visual communication.

About the Future
One of the challenges that ZSO faces for the future is the fact that there seems to be a lack of a sense of collectivity and more individualism within business. The biggest challenge is to increase solidarity in the industry and with entrepreneurs to help bring in the new business. We need to focus on the needs and wishes of the customer and form a network of manufacturers and service providers to help solve the problems the customer encounters.

About FESPA
FESPA is a good international network of Secretaries where the exchange of knowledge and experience is stimulated, as well as a spirit of cooperation. In my eyes FESPA is a provider of very welcome knowledge through – for instance – the World Wide Survey and the Planet Friendly Guide. The (personal) relationship between ZSO and FESPA Staff is very important as well. Together we are stronger!
