 Dr Martial Blanc has a PhD in Surface Physics. With a strong scientific background and a deep interest to follow technical projects from their conception in the laboratory all their way down to their commercialization, his professional carreer has grown from an application engineer role, until becoming the Sales & Marketing Director at Sensient - Specialty Inks business unit.Immediately after having completed his PhD at the EPF Lausanne in the field of surface physics in 1998, Martial has been literally consumed by the digital sublimation printing industry when he joined the chemical company ECS SA as an Application Engineer with the assignment to teach and promote the use of digital sublimation inks, recently developed by the ECS' R&D laboratory for the industrial sublimation printing market. Since then he has progressively taken increased responsibilities in the same company which is now part of the Sensient Technologies Corporation based in Milwaukee, USA. After completing his MBA at the Business School Lausanne in 2007, he is today Technical and Business Development Director, and has lead the company to become one of the leading and most innovative manufacturers of digital textile inks in the world. As a privileged observer of the textile printing industry, Martial has witnessed the evolution and growing importance of digital technologies, and has participated actively, via the development of innovative inks such as the ElvaJet SE 100, to the growth in sublimation printing from a minor printing technique in the conventional textile printing to the largest segment of digital textile printing.
