Augustus Martin Announces Acquisition of Walkersmcr Print E-mail
Specialist POS manufacturer Augustus Martin has announced the acquisition of the litho and digital business of Manchester-based Walkersmcr for an undisclosed sum.

Lascelle BarrowThe company will trade under the name Walkers Instore and will continue to be run by Gary Herrington (managing director) and Mark Davies (sales & production director).

Lascelle Barrow, joint managing director of Augustus Martin said "I am delighted that we have been able to complete the acquisition of such a well respected name in our industry. Augustus Martin has been looking for a base in the North of England for some while. Walkers has always offered excellent service to its customers, but has recently fallen victim to the unexpected collapse of Woolworths plc. This has presented us with an opportunity to acquire a strong team in Manchester to enable us to expand and grow our business. We will continue to produce in Manchester and build both capacity and employment where we can. The facilities in Manchester will be supplemented by those of Augustus Martin in London and we are confident that this will provide an enhanced offering to Walkers' customers." He continued "We look forward to further acquisition opportunities."
