Visitors to Fespa Digital in Amsterdam (May 12-14, 2009) will find a dazzling display of new state-of-the-art large format print and cut solutions
including new innovations at Mimaki’s booth B70 & C65. Mimaki Engineering, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutting machines for the sign/graphics, textile/ apparel and industrial markets will welcome visitors to its booth (B70 & C65) at Fespa Digital in Amsterdam with a spectacular product line-up.
Mimaki’s position within UV inkjet technology is underlined by the presentation of its hybrid UV LED curing printer UJV-160. The printer can accommodate heat sensitive roll and rigid media because UV LED does not produce high temperatures and features less power consumption. To further enhance flexibitility Mimaki offers the choice between flexible and hard UV inks to widen the range of applications. The flexible UV ink developed in conjunction with 3M can stretch up to 200% and enables printing on cured ink membranes such as vehicle wrapping using thin PVC and any other curved surfaces. In addition the new white hard UV ink and new media feeding mechanism enhance the printers performance decisively. The latter enabling the UJV-160 to print on aluminum composite board or acrylic boards in outstanding quality. With two machines on the booth Mimaki will show both the roll-to-roll and the flatbed capabilities of the printer.

The UJV-160 flatbed will be accompanied by the CF2 Series flatbed cutting plotter to show an effective print and cut workflow for rigid media up to 1 cm thick, such as POP displays. The CF2 is equipped with an optical eye which allows for accurate contour cutting of printed images.
In addition, the recently introduced and highly successful CJV30 Series integrated print and cut solutions will be on display. The unique range (60, 100, 130, 160cm) brings great choice and flexibility to signmakers, copyshops, screenprinters and other print companies. Among the exhibits visitors will see, are the recently introduced JV33- 260. This super wide format printer model has been added to Mimaki’s best selling and award winning JV33 family printers. The JV33-260 will be displayed with Mimaki’s Bulk Ink Supply System (MBIS) and the new AMF (Automatic Media Feeder) exerting exact tension control over the whole printing width of 2.6 m even when using rollbased substrates of up to 100 kg.
The ultra high speed JV5 Series printers are presented in two widths (160 and 320 cm): The JV5-160 as a solvent model and the JV5-320 as a dye sublimation model. This series excels in producing vivid accurate images with speeds of up to 62.1 sqm/h (3.2 m width model/at 540 x 720 dpi)) and is widely chosen for its productive features such as the staggered head arrangement, Uninterrupted Ink Supply System (UISS), nozzle failure detection and high print quality. As a pioneer in cutting plotters designed for sign making and graphic arts, Mimaki will also showcase the new highly competitively priced CG-SRII series, available in two sizes (1070 and 1370 mm). This series combines new functionalities with uncompromising cutting capabilities to offer customers great value at an affordable price. The machine is equipped with an optical eye for accurate contour cutting as well as the new RSC function. The RSC (Real time Stroke Control) function detects cutting strokes during cutting and adjusts the strength of the strokes, thus maintaining constant cutting pressure.
The UJF Series enables UV printing on rigid materials up to 50 mm thickness, no matter the surface. This way golf balls, pens, buttons, phones, computers and other gift items as well as ceramics, acrylics, tiles, wood or plastic can be printed on with 6 colours plus white and clear. For printing on glass and metal Mimaki has developed a UV primer to enhance adhesion and print quality. With a resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi many industrial applications including markings, institutional signage, ad specialities and lots of other products stand out and deliver exceptional results.
“We will be unveiling further innovative state-of-the-art solutions at this main event for digital printing in Europe. Please make sure to stop by our booth and convince yourself of our comprehensive solutions for streamlined production of sign, textile and industrial applications”, says Sakae Sagane, Managing Director Mimaki Europe.
