CPS Screen Chemistry Boosts Productivity for Leading Hungarian Billboard Printer Print E-mail
CPS screen preparation, cleaning and reclamation chemicals are enabling Cut Art Print and Dekor to improve print quality, resolution and consistency from its automated production equipment. The latest screen printing chemistry, developed and manufactured by CPS, is playing a crucial role in helping the leading Hungarian screen printer to increase significantly the levels of productivity from its large format screen print systems. Cut Art Print and Dekor, based in Budapest and employing a team of 23 also specialises in producing large poster and billboard advertisements and promotional materials.

The company’s Managing Director, István Szocs, explains that in recent years the company has, “Expanded rapidly into the large format arena, extending our original inkjet production facilities with a move to screen printing, using A00 roll and sheet fed machines. We were also the first company in the region to introduce digital engraving and to use computer to screen technology. As a result, we have a large customer base and handle a wide and varied range of projects, with our biggest ever installation being a 72 x 7m billboard for the Cora supermarket in Szeged, a major city in Southern Hungary”.

Although the company’s first printing systems were manually operated, these were supplemented at an early stage with automatic machines. Today the entire screen printing process from coating and exposure to screen cleaning and stencil reclamation is fully automated, using the latest equipment from ESC in Germany, with the entire process housed in two areas of the printing laboratory. István Szocs points out, however, that the company’s success does not just depend on investment in the latest machinery:“Instead, our extremely high levels of productivity and quality derive from a combination of modern, high performance equipment, combined with the specialised skills and knowledge of our print technicians and the use of the best available screen chemistry”.
CPS
Cut Art Print and Dekor tested a range of products from a number of manufacturers before standardising on the CPS Green Screen Chemicals System. This includes Screen Wash V3, which has been developed specifically for high-speed automatic cleaning lines; MF Screen Adhesive that is designed to be fully resistant to washout; and Ultracoat CTS, which provides exceptional levels of resolution with easy and consistent washout. CPS’ Eastern European Sales Executive, Daniel Illmer, worked in cooperation with the company’s local distributor in Hungary, Centrum Servis, to help Cut Art Print and Dekor gain the maximum benefit from the new chemistry. Adrás Sebok, Managing Director of Centrum Servis, explains, “Working with the team at Cut Art Print and Dekor we have created a reliable and extremely effective screen production and reclamation system that runs at high speeds and produces consistent, high quality results”. István Szocs is also delighted with the solution provided by CPS and Centrum Servis. “Combined, our automated production systems and the CPS chemistry have enabled us to improve productivity by over 30%, which enables us to respond faster and more efficiently to the needs of our customers and provides us with the flexibility we need to expand our business still further”.
