They decided to source solely from like-minded factories that met demanding standards and today work exclusively with affiliated factories in Tanzania, using the very finest, soft African cotton, ensuring transparency and quality at every stage of the process, as well as caring for workers and the environment. With their Tanzanian manufacturing, they are also in a position to oversee a fully vertical operation, from start – with raw cotton that is spun, woven and dyed, to finish – with the stitched finished garment.
Mantis take advice from experts with regular, independent social and environmental audits to check progress against international labour standards as set out in the ETI Base Code. They hold the Oeko Tex 100 certificate at the highest standard, Class 1 to cover babywear, which means that all products have been tested and are certified free of harmful dyes, chemicals and pesticides.
