Continental Grafix AG, the European manufacturer of perforated printing media has almost tripled its product range within three years.
Almost all new products have been developed by the Swiss company and are based on own patents. These innovations offer solutions for complicated cases which would not have been resolvable in the past unless compromises have been considered.
The market of pressure sensitive products has changed a lot during past years. Quality is still the primary topic in the mission statement of this company which manufacturers nearby Heilbronn, Germany - quality is even higher ranked than price. Pressure sensitive window films are solely polymeric vinyl featuring removable, semi-permanent adhesive which does not leave any residue. Most of these films are certified (B1 and M1, German TUV). The range within the self-adhesive product group is quite large as the window film can be ordered with 50%, 60% or 70% printable area. The choice lies with the customer: Excellent printed image vs. highest possible transparency. Further it offers different backing liners: Most of the products feature paper liner but you can also go for window film with polyester backing liner which has especially been developed for UV curing inks.
The segment experiencing biggest growth is the non-adhesive product range. Based on in-house product development and protected by a worldwide pending patent, Continental Grafix perforates a wide range of material e.g. paper, rigid PVC, polyester and textile. An endless list of application possibilities could be mentionnend at this stage. The products panoRama Vision (paper), panoRama Star (rigid PVC) and panoRama Film (polyester) can be well-used for POS advertisement, shop window decoration and booth and shop construction as well as room divider. The perforated b/w textile panoRama Design can be used particularly as vertical blinds, curtains or translucent sun protection. For information: Almost all Continental Grafix products feature black/white surface. The bright white front is the printing side and gets covered by ink. The reverse side is deep black and has to be deep black. The human eye gets "betrayed" by a black reverse side. Eye and brain ignore the black reverse side and see only the coloured and lightful scenery behind it. The perforation which has to accurate at 1/1000 mm guarantees perfect see through effect.
Should you happen to need to apply the non-adhesive products to the inside of a window then the transfer adhesive tape panoRama Stick offers you to equip almost every printed media with self-adhesive features.
As some of the inquiries sometimes also get into outdoor application Continental Grafix has developed a few solutions also for this area. Missing visibility of mesh textile has scuppered many campaigns but the Swiss now offer a b/w mesh with great image on the one side and translucency from the other side. If you prefer a smoother textile then you consider the panoRama Screen which sometimes gets compared with a mosquito net. If you even wish to receive such a solution in a stronger way with more visibility then ask for panoRama Fabric. It is an excellent media for exhibitions and events e.g. sport stadiums could get equipped with safety nets between the playground and the tribune. On the one side they would offer printable area which could be used for large advertisement campaigns without influencing the spectator's view.
Especially in view of the fact that many exhibitions will take place in 2008 Continental Grafix has resolved to move forward. Many new products and new developments will be shown. Inputs from printers and end-users have forced Continental Grafix to improve the range and to offer new solutions from day to day which will not only end up with a larger assortiment but also with higher turnover and increasing market share.
